Oliver tractors have been around for over 100 years, and they have a rich history. The company was founded in 1916 by James Oliver, who designed and built the first Oliver tractor.
The Oliver Corporation was founded in 1929, in Charles City, Iowa. The company started out as a manufacturer of steel plows. In the 1930s, Oliver began producing tractors, and by the 1940s, the company had become a leading tractor manufacturer in the United States.
Oliver continued to produce tractors throughout the 1950s and 1960s. In 1968, the Oliver Corporation was purchased by White Motor Company. White produced Oliver tractors until 1979 when production ceased.
In 1980, Fiat purchased a controlling interest in White Motor Company and merged Oliver with another tractor brand that Fiat owned, Cockshutt. The new company was called "White-New Holland." Production of Oliver tractors resumed in 1981 and continued until the mid-1990s when Fiat sold White-New Holland to Ford.
The Oliver tractor lineup currently includes four models: 1850, 1950T, 2150, and 2750. 1850 is a 55-horsepower tractor that was first introduced in 1963. The 1950T is a 75-horsepower tractor that was first introduced in 1967. 2150 is a 100-horsepower tractor that was first introduced in 1971. 2750 is a 125 horsepower tractor that was first introduced in 1975.
